As a housing ambassador for the Expo I had the chance to talk to the public and find out their views both on the design of the houses and also how they had been furnished. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. The visitors were amazed by the quality of the furniture that New Start had provided and were surprised to find out that it was all re-used. The furniture added new angles and dimensions to the houses by enhancing the interiors and the houses looked livelier. Most visitors were fascinated by the variety of furniture and were interested in buying various items (rugs, carpets and sofa's being the most popular among them).

All in all it was a great experience for me; it allowed me to interact with so many people, find out their opinion on the Expo and spread the word about the service provided by New Start to the local community. It shows how people can develop and sustain their local community by donating unwanted items, which would subsequently help the under-privileged people in our society.
