Secretary Of State visits New Start Highland

Jim Murphy, Secretary of State for Scotland, visited New Start Highland on 2 September 2009 to see how a social and environmental enterprise was adapting to the recession and how it plans to develop its service in the future.

Mr Murphy spent time chatting to staff, trainees and volunteers about their work and how Government initatives such as New Deal affects them in their jobs.

Mairi Macaulay, Operations Manager, commented that the staff team, trainees and volunteers were delighted that Mr Murphy made a special request to visit New Start on his busy trip to the Highlands.
